The focus of the event was to take the first step in revitalizing the Greenwich Dog Park - the only off-leash dog park in all of Greenwich. The event also officially launched the recently formed non-profit, PAWS of Greenwich. Volunteers sanded and painted the park benches and the community board, planted tall grass, and mulched freshly transplanted trees, donated by the Town of Greenwich. General clean up of the park was also done - from raking up leaves, branches, and waste, to washing and painting the park signs. Business volunteers from PetLuvin Casita and Jack and Jill Pet Sitters, graciously donated their time and manpower, to lead the day of tasks.

In addition to the cleanup, the event featured a variety of pet and family friendly activities including "Ask a Vet" pop up by Spot On Veterinarymini dog training sessions by Heather Trocola at In the Lead Dog Trainingface painting by Hollydays Creations Face and Body ArtComplimentary dog treats, tennis balls and bandanas were graciously donated by Blue Buffalo and human treats were provided by Garelick and Herbs, J House and Starbucks. Lucky guests won various raffle giveaways from local businesses including Jack Dog Studio, Raleigh & Company, Choice Pet Greenwich, Zen Bronze, Jack & Jill Pet Sitters, PetLuvin' Casita and more.

PAWS of Greenwich looks forward to hosting cleanups at the beginning of each season, to ensure the Greenwich Dog Park remains safe and clean for fido and owners.
