June is Dog License Month!

The Month of June is Dog License Month! Are your pups Greenwich-official? The Connecticut State law requires all dogs six months and older to be licensed by June 30. Dog licenses are valid for one year and must be renewed annually via the Town of Greenwich. 

Cost: $8 if spayed or neutered | $19 for non-spayed/neutered dogs

STEPS:

  • Download & complete the license application: bit.ly/ctdoglicense 

  • Provide a copy of current rabies vaccination

  • Provide a copy of spay/neuter certificate (ONLY if it's your first time applying)

  • Drop in the mail or apply in-person at Greenwich Town Hall

You will receive a new dog tag, that MUST be worn at all times

Greenwich Free Press: Parks & Rec Board Members Meeting Erupts Over Dog Park Issues

Jessica DelGuercio, founder of PAWS of Greenwich, said there is no longer a push to extend dog season at the beach. However, she said one of her group’s priorities is for more improvements at Grass Island Dog Park. She thanked the department for putting gravel under a section of fence where dogs were getting stuck.

However, she said that shards of glass, metal and porcelain continue to bubble up.

PAWS of Greenwich will join forces this weekend for a paw-some morning of clean up and pet-friendly activities, in an effort to revitalize Greenwich's only legal off-leash dog park on Grass Island. The family-and-dog-friendly "Spring Spruce Up" at Greenwich Dog Park event will take place this weekend, on Saturday, April 29 from 9 am - noon.  Get involved and lend a paw!
